C1 WIA-LEARNING, TRAINING AND PLANNING
The short-term joint staff training events took place in València, Spain.
All partners worked on exchanging experience, learning from each other, planning the project and disseminating it.
First partners’ face to face contact, team building. The meeting’s first objectives were accomplished, sharing the experience of teaching art at primary schools at the different schools and promoting the project’s objective. Partners got to know the different methodologies used in the schools; project based learning, students ability for making changes in society at their age and the view of the art teaching objectives in educational institutions.
Guest participants: Paulina Hącia, Anna Kobylańska and Magdalena Madajczyk-Głowac from Poland, Rosa Fusco and Guillermina de Gennaro from Italy. Paraskevi Gkolia, Afroditi Dimoviti and Chrysoula Androni from Greece.
Local participants: Tania Elorza (project coordinator), Joan Ll. Clausell, Alba Polit (Primary Projects Coordinator), Sònia Casquete (School Principal), Teresa Millet (IVAM curator), José Luís Clemente (Fine Arts University Professor), José Galindo (Fine Arts University Dean) all members of the Primary Education Staff at Les Carolines School.
1.1 PROJECT-BASED LEARNING – MOBILITIES FEMALE ARTISTS PROMOTION ACTION
Teachers learnt how to implement project-based learning in order to apply this methodology in the students’ mobility period “female artists promotion” activity. We decided on the selection of the topic and the final product, the knowledge brainstorming, the roadmap and the types of evaluation.
1.2 PROJECT Opening ceremony at the IVAM (Institut Valencià d’Art Modern)
The IVAM offered us a guided visit to the “backstage” of the museum, as well as information about the number of women artists exhibited and the pieces of art done by women acquired throughout the last year (56%). Several departments from the IVAM were present at the opening, they offered their help in order to develop the project and support the student mobility activities in València. Other schools and education institutions showed interest in participating in the project and putting the results into practice. The project was well received by political, educational and press agents. The opening act was picked up by the media.
1.3 A GUIDED VISIT TO THE EXHIBITION “Ocultes i Il·lustrades”
Sharing the main objective of the WIA project, the exhibition aims to highlight the role of women in the profession through the work of Valencian women illustrators of different generations, who were forgotten, went unnoticed, hidden under pseudonyms or relegated to tasks considered secondary and far from the relevant creative positions.
1.4 FACULTY OF FINE ARTS
Guided visit to the Faculty. A meeting took place with José Galindo, the Fine Arts University Dean and José Luís Clemente, Art History professor at the Fine Arts University and Coordinator of the master of PAM (Multimedia and Artistics Productions) in order to design a cooperative strategy with our project.
1.5 ART IN PRIMARY EDUCATION
Teachers from the 3 participating countries shared their art methodological backgrounds (art techniques, approaches to art, different countries educational legislation)
1.6 PROJECT PLANNING
Discussion and planning of the dissemination strategies, outcome design, tasks schedule, Etwinning project, evaluation tools, reports plan, students’ mobilities, management plan outline.
